Molecule 02 is ambroxan, pure and singular. Ambroxan is a crystal-chemical structure identical to ambrox derived from ambergris. For centuries, ambergris has been the most prized ingredient in perfumery. It is a somewhat mysterious substance expelled by the sperm whale, which only acquires its fine odor after long maturation in the ocean. Ambergris is rarely found today, and the "amber" in a modern perfume will be a laboratory-created equivalent of some of the aromatic molecules that make up its scent. The finest molecule by far is Ambroxan, which is identical to nature. Ambergris has always been valued for its refinement and sensuality, and this quality is found in Ambroxan. Ambroxan was isolated from plant sources in 1950. The maximum percentage that can be dissolved in a perfume compound is 13.5%. Beyond that, the solution begins to crystallize. Most amber perfumes contain 1 to 2%. Molecule 02 is 100% Ambroxan in alcohol and a little water. It is a fresh, almost mineral sweetness that subtly expands to envelop you in olfactory layers of sensual, sparkling molecules.
